Announcements 2024 Asian Buggy Championships Rd2: Philippine Masters avril 17, 2024 by Chris Laisser un commentaire One of the best races of the international calendar, the Philippine Masters returns for2024 as the second round of the four-round Asian Buggy Championship series. After a superb opening round at Counties RC in New Zealand, the best of Asia and Australasia, with special guest drivers from around the world, have gathered in Manilla. An event with a long and prestigious history, almost 200 entries from 16 countries will do battle in nitro & electric buggy and nitro truggy classes. Headlining the entry list are a host of international superstars – two-time 8th buggy IFMAR World Champion Davide Ongaro (Team Associated), US drivers Ryan Lutz (Kyosho) and Ryan Pavidis (Sparko), and Germany’s Jorn Neumann. They’ll take on Japanese World Champ Atsushi Hara (SWorkz), Australia’s Alex Bernadzik (AE), Christian Wolhuter (SWorkz) and Jackson Beale (Tekno), together with the finds of Round 1, Kiwi duo Logan Toia (HB) and Jayden Jamieson (XRAY). They’re joined by a host of past Masters A finalists, the cream of local Philippines talent plus drivers from across the region. Circulo Verde Rightly famed for its incredible layout, the Circulo Verde track is the battleground upon which the Philippine Masters will be fought. Edward Sio and the team from Quezon City RC Car Club have produced a superb racetrack, with a clean, high traction surface. Drivers will face extended rhythm sections, off-camber corners, high-banked sections, and jumps that demand perfect timing and lines. High grip, together with low tyre wear on the oil-treated surface place Circulo Verde among the very best racetracks in the world. The pit areas feature everything a racer needs, from a three-story high driver’s stand, to cleaning facilities, work benches and on-site Dogbone RC hobby store. The headline battles Davide Ongaro comes to Manilla as defending nitro buggy champion, but with his schedule meaning he’ll arrive just in time for the final seeding round, there is opportunity for his rivals. Key among them are America’s Ryan Lutz (who swept the buggy classes at round 1 in New Zealand), Japanese ex-World Champ Atsushi Hara, Germany’s Jorn Neumann and Australia’s Alex Bernadzik (on his first visit to the Masters) Making Sunday’s A finals will be an achievement, a spot on the podium outstanding.
