UK Tom Yardy TQs & wins at XRS UK Rd3 décembre 9, 2021 by Chris Laisser un commentaire The third round of the Xray Racing Series UK series was held at the Midlands raceway located in Cradley, just outside Birmingham, this past weekend. The permanent indoor track, made with EOS style carpet, is quite small, but had a nice flow. Practice suggested lap times around the 12 second mark which meant maximum concentration and a well handling car would be needed to stay clean out there. Practice seeding was decided based on the 3 fastest consecutive laps. Despite a few errors Tom Yardy (XRAY/Maclan) was able to take TQ in round 1 in 2WD buggy but then another scruffy run in round 2 meant he would finish 2nd. After making his car a little easier to drive, Tom was able to run clean and TQ the next 3 qualifiers. He was the only driver to record a 26 lap run, with an 11.99 average over the 5 minutes. In the final Tom got off to a clean start and it was close with Dom Nunn (TLR) for the first 2 minutes. Tom knew that he was more comfortable at that pace and soon Dom began to make errors giving Tom a clear run to the end to take the win. Lewis Hopkins (Team Associated) came in second a lap down while Dom rounded out the top 3.
