Michal Orlowski is 2024 European 2WD buggy champion

Michal Orlowski was crowned European champion in the 2WD buggy class after winning the TQ in qualifying and the first two of the three finals. The Malmö carpet track was going to be hard on Europe’s best drivers, but Michal dominated from start to finish. Michal won four of the five qualifying rounds, the only one to miss out was won by team-mate Daniel Kobbevik. Michal kept control of the first final, finishing with a comfortable 4s lead over Daniel, while Ben Smith, also on Schumacher, took advantage of his rivals’ mistakes to take 3rd place. The second final was much closer between Michal and defending champion Marcus Kaerup, who finished just behind him. Michal completed the 16 laps in 5:05.503, Marcus in 5:05.595! Two victories and the title is secure for the Polish driver. Michal didn’t race in the 3rd final. Daniel remained in the lead for most of the final, but a mistake in the last minute allowed Marcus to come through and take victory and 2nd place overall! Ben, once again very fast, completes the top 3.
