Spain, Europe 2024 IFMAR 1/8th nitro buggy world championship: Juan Carlos Canas on pole for the final septembre 14, 2024 by Chris Laisser un commentaire It’s the last day of the Worlds in Redovan, Spain. And the last day means the day of the final, but before that there are a few steps for the fastest drivers to take. Starting with the semi-finals! Semi-final A will be dominated by Juan Carlos Canas, with no major surprises in store. But that doesn’t mean it’s a foregone conclusion – on the contrary! Joao Figueiredo and Marcus Kaerup are going to run a solid race, taking advantage of their opponents’ mistakes to establish themselves in 2nd and 3rd positions. Bruno Coelho, on the other hand, had a tougher time of it and finished 4th. Riccardo Berton proved once again the excellent performance of his Infinity buggy to finish 5th. The surprise came from Dakotah Phend, who was perfectly on track until his engine flamed out before the line, costing him a lap. He went on to win the LCQ fair and square, and join the finalists. In semi-final B, Davide Ongaro also dominated the field by a wide margin. Berkan Kilic and Elliott Boots battled it out right to the end, while David Ronnefalk finished in 4th place, slightly behind the duo. Burak Kilic rounded off the top 5 just behind the Swedish driver. The surprise here came from Ryan Maifield and Reno Savoya who, after some strong performances in the quarter-finals, failed to keep up their good showing.
