Company News RPM R/C Products celebrate 50 years avril 2, 2024 by Chris Laisser un commentaire On April 1st, RPM R/C Products celebrated its 50th anniversary. To mark the anniversary, the company took the opportunity to tell its story, including the origins of its iconic name. The date is April 1st, 1974. Richard Royall and a founding partner opened the doors to Rohart Precision Molds (just in case you wondered what « RPM » stands for). They built molds for everything, from medical devices to sprinkler heads. Several years later, Richard took over sole control of the company. In 1986, Richard started building molds for other R/C manufacturers. In 1989, the RPM brand was created. For 50 years, we’ve been building molds. For over 35 years, we’ve been building R/C parts. Made in America and proudly serving you the best possible molded products for your R/C needs. Thank you for helping us get here! About RPM R/C Products: RPM was established in 1974 as a plastic mold making and injection molding facility. Many of the first high tolerance, precision molded parts built by RPM were for the commercial and medical industries, where accuracy is critical. It wasn’t until the mid 1980’s that RPM began designing parts for the R/C industry. These parts were of the same quality and precision that exist in the injection-molded parts we build to this day. Since RPM’s inception, we have expanded our mold making capacity by purchasing some of the best machine tools available. In addition, RPM has a complete injection molding facility in-house. Every single molded product made by RPM is conceived, designed, built and manufactured in our facility, right here in Chino, California USA! Very few manufacturers have the capabilities that RPM has for full in-house production. This ability to design, manufacture and produce our own products gives us the best possible quality control over our parts. Excellent quality control, in turn, gives our customers the best possible parts!
