Nitro engine testing for Ryan Maifield with the Drake septembre 13, 2021 by Chris Leave a Comment Since Robert Batlle’s announcement of the end of Maxima products including nitro engines and fuel, all eyes are focused on the other Maxima drivers, Robert having already announced his new sponsor. The American riders to use Mx engines and Maxima fuels are 4: Ryan Maifield, Spencer Rivkin, Ryan Cavalieri and Jared Tebo. The most attentive ones could see that since June 22 and the release of its report of the 2021 ROAR fuel nationals, Cav did not mention Maxima or MX as a sponsor, which made us at Circus RC News curious. Since then, Cav seems to keep using Maxima, probably until he runs out of product. Jared continues to list Maxima as a sponsor in his recent publications. Yesterday, publications from Ryan Maifield, Spencer Rivkin and Adam Drake re-launched the rumor mill. Ryan put online a picture where we can clearly see an engine with a O.S. type black cooling head on his Mugen Seiki MBX8, while in the background we can identify the Team Associated B3.2 of Spencer, with an electric blue cooling head, Maxima color. Running some test and tune out at Thunder Alley today with Adam Drake and Spencer Rivkin. – Ryan Maifield The other point that indicates that something is going on is the presence of Adam. Ok he lives not far away from Thunder Alley raceway but he’s mostly involved in the setup, break-in, tuning and maintenance of the drivers’ engines including Ryan and Spencer with his company Adam Drake Racing. Calling on him for everything related to its future engine is more than obvious. As for Spencer, there is no information suggesting that he may have tested another engine than his trusted Maxima. Adam noted, however, that he had done some work on refurbishing his engines for the Southern nationals. Spencer Rivkin’s MX engines refreshed with new bearings and our sleeve resizing service for the Southern Nationals. – Adam Drake That still doesn’t answer the question: what brand of engines will they be using soon? Except a surprise always possible, if we look at the list of the sponsors of the 2 drivers we can have some hints. Ryan includes in its sponsors 2 who have engines: ProTek RC with the Samurai S03 nitro engine, (featuring a black cooling head and available with break-in by Adam Drake ;)) and Flash Point FP02 nitro engine also featuring a black cooling head, both engines being based on O.S.engines. Spencer shares ProTek RC with Ryan, he could therefore be powered by a Samurai S03 nitro engine. Stay tuned!
