France Savoya & Bermudez win at 2021 Big Race août 2, 2021 by Chris Leave a Comment This past weekend was held the 2021 Big Race at the Alc Longvic Mini Racing Car track located near Dijon, France. The Big Race is a round of the French 1/8th Nitro Buggy Championship bringing together racers from the Elite class and drivers from National class. The main idea is to allow the National drivers to learn from the Elite drivers in order to improve their skills. Tom Robin (Team Associated/Ielasi Tuned Engines/Reedy/RunnerTime/Pro-Line Racing) set the overall TQ in Elite while the young top gun Rémy Bermudez (XRAY/Aigoin Racing) took the TQ in National. The Elite final was run in three stages; Tom, starting from the P1 spot, lead the first part of the final until Kevin Michaudet (HB Racing/Optima Engines/Performa Racing/Team Orion/6MIK) takes the 1st place. Reno Savoya (Kyosho/Picco/Konect/Gens Ace/Racing Experience/AKA) will then start to increase the pressure in the last 15 minutes of the race and finally the shark will manage to overtake Kevin. Kevin will slightly reduce his speed at the end of the final, and Tom will take the opportunity to pass him. Finally, Reno brought home the win with 9s margin over Tom in second and Kévin in third, only 1.2s further. Infos & photos by Vincent Reynier.
