1/8Th GT Cars Serpent SRX8 GT TQ 1/8th nitro GT kit juillet 1, 2020 by Chris Leave a Comment Serpent have introduced the new SRX8 GT TQ 1/8th nitro GT kit. Based on the SRX8 GT that has proven his great potential on the World championships in Miami, the SRX8 GT TQ shares many high performance parts from the successful SRX8 platform. In addition to the details carried over from the SRX8 platform, Serpent have introduced many new, design concepts to optimize their new GT car. The SRX8GT TQ features the all new gearbox of the Viper 989 in order to reduce inertia compared from the SRX8 one and improve acceleration. Also new are the aluminium uprights with carbon fiber brackets offering a lot of roll center positions and fits each track conditions. Also included is the all new adjustable GT clutch set. Used for the first time at the Worlds, the kit comes with the steel clutch bell with black shoes, but also available is an optional aluminum hard-coated clutch bell and yellow clutch shoes. Shopping! The high volume differentials come with Mod 1.25 internal gears with and internal ratio of 10/20. Coupled with larger volume housing, these differentials reduce any fading or loss of performance. Chassis width and corner clearance control the lean and body roll in all directions. In addition to that, the roll and lean angles ultimately control the maximum cornering force. Serpent kept the chassis the narrowest in nature that was possible, while increasing the corner clearance. The SRX8GT TQ comes with fully aluminum bulkheads, suspension brackets and center 2 speed mounts. These 7075-T6 aluminium parts are all black anodized with Silver shiny edges. The suspension brackets are made from 7075-T6 aluminum and come with new shims to adjust the roll center at 1 and 2 mm off the chassis plate to fine tune the kick angle, anti-squat and roll center height. The brackets also allow to fully adjust the front kick-up 0,0.5,1,1.5 and 2 degree increments. The rear anti-squat can be adjust from 1,1.5,2,2.5,3 degrees while the toe-in adjustment can be made by 2,2.5,2.75,3,3.25,3.5 and 4 degrees by using the inserts. The SRX8GT TQ features an easy access diffs. Four adjustment positions allow to fine the car from the lowest grip, all the way to the highest grip conditions. Both the front and rear bulkheads share the same diff inserts, and pinion holders, to minimize extra parts. Both the front and rear diffs can be removed in a matter of seconds. A new addition to the SRX8 GT TQ is a flat steering system. Serpent took the successful steering system from the SRX8 and SRX8e and created a version specifically for the GT class. The setting system continues to use existing Ackerman plates, but it also allow to lower the CG of the bulkheads and further enhance the car ability in the corner and provide less body roll. Keeping the most consistent Ackermann curves provide more efficient cornering with less tire wear. The SRX8GT TQ chassis comes with pre-drilled holes into the chassis for optional weights to be able to adjust the weight distribution of the car. You can add a 25g weight to the front and/or rear. The weights will be sold separately. The SRX8 GT TQ is outfitted with a super easy access center 2 speed. Not only is it easy to access, with simply removing 2 screws you can have the entire 2 speed out of the car and ready for adjustment/maintenance faster than you can make it to the concession stand for a beverage. Aside from the easy access 2 speed, you can also get the maximum performance from your braking mechanism, due to an absolute easy to adjust single 3mm turnbuckle. No more uneven wearing brake pads or overloading one, get it right the first time with ease. The front and rear suspension arms feature arm plates that can be added, removed or swapped out for carbon fiber. This feature allows to adjust the stiffness of the arms depending grip level and track surface. The front steering spindle is made from 7075-T6 is black anodized with silver machined edges and includes a rubber CVD boot to keep the driveshaft greased, to minimize wear. The steering spindle also accepts 5 different Ackermann plates, 0,1,2,3,4. The kit includes a 150cc fuel tank. The tank has clip on clamps to help keep your fuel line in check as well as an overflow/splash shield around the lid of the tank. The tank floats on two specially design posts to flex just enough but also provide the proper support. The tank then has 2 rubber grommets to absorb vibration from the engine to reduce air bubbles in the tank to further improve the performance of your fuel system. The 10 degrees front caster blocks are fully machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and also have nice machined silver edges. They also have setscrews that hold all pins into position, and steering stop screws that can be used to limit the steering. The 16mm threaded shocks with o ring seals have extremely tough 4mm shock shafts and aluminum shock caps. The threaded bodies make it super easy to get the ride height or tweak settings you might be looking for. A new addition to the SRX8GT is the rear diffuser. It provides more stability, ease of driving, better air flow in and out of the body and faster lap times. The car comes with an oversized large foam bumper firmly mounted between the upper and lower bumper. This solid mounting allows to take more direct impact and ensure the car will be properly protected. The bumper can be trimmed to fit all bodies currently in the market.
